Dental Scaling

Dental scaling is a professional cleaning procedure performed under general anesthesia to remove plaque and tartar buildup from your pet’s teeth.  This procedure is essential for preventing gum disease, tooth loss, and other health complications. For pets with special dental needs, we also offer a wide range of oral surgery options including elective dental extractions. Non-urgent dental procedures are generally scheduled in the morning, allowing us to closely monitor your pet’s recovery from anesthesia before their discharge in the afternoon.

What to Expect:

  • Procedure: We perform dental scaling under general anesthesia. This minimises discomfort to your pets, and allows for a thorough cleaning of all tooth and gum surfaces.
  • Recovery: Most pets recover quickly and can typically resume their normal activities within a day or two.

Signs Your Pet May Need Dental Scaling:

  • Persistent bad breath (halitosis)
  • Red or swollen gums
  • Difficulty eating or chewing
  • Visible yellow or brown tartar buildup
